From long-form features and travel journalism to documentary research and editorial storytelling, my work takes many forms. What connects it is a curiosity about people, places and the stories behind them.

Over the years, I’ve worked with Dutch and international media, broadcasters and organisations, exploring subjects ranging from culture and travel to social issues and sustainability.

Alongside my journalism, I work with organisations on editorial content, interviews, web copy and content strategy. I help turn specialist knowledge and complex subjects into stories that speak to the people they’re meant for.

My work ranges from cultural storytelling for Centraal Museum Utrecht to articles on energy and sustainable mobility, and regional employment initiatives.

A story doesn’t always begin on the page.

Before becoming an independent journalist, I spent eight years at Dutch public broadcaster BNNVARA, working in online editorial roles and television production.

As a TV editor and researcher, I helped develop stories, find contributors, conduct interviews and prepare productions for programmes including 3 op Reis and Floortje naar het Einde van de Wereld. Documentary research has also taken me to countries including Somaliland, Iraq and Bangladesh.
