Welcome! I’m Carmen Esselink, a passionate storyteller, content creator, and freelance researcher dedicated to uncovering narratives that matter. With nearly a decade of experience in the media industry, I’ve worked on documentaries, television programs, and online projects that bring untold stories to life. Whether it’s exploring complex social issues, diving into cultural phenomena, or crafting human-centered scripts, I thrive on connecting audiences with meaningful and impactful stories.
After earning my Master’s degree in Television and Cross Media Culture, I embarked on a career that has taken me across diverse industries and topics. My early years were shaped by working with BNNVARA, where I developed, researched, and scripted compelling content for programs like ‘3 op Reis’, ‘Spuiten en Slikken’ en ‘Kassa’. From tackling the war on drugs to exploring themes of vulnerability and resilience, my work reflects my belief in the power of storytelling to inspire change and spark dialogue.
At the core of my work is the belief that every story deserves to be told with authenticity and respect. Whether I’m shining a light on societal challenges or celebrating the beauty of everyday life, I aim to inspire curiosity, empathy, and action.
